The war resulted in over a million casualties, leaving every parents child-less, and every child parent-less. It gave birth to famine, disease, and wasteland that couldn’t be tamed, mostly due to the aftermath of the use of banned weapon such as landmines, and chemical weapon. The war didn’t spare anything, neither any farmlands nor swamp as the war engulfed anything that stood on its path, which in fact, creating a much larger problem than having to take care of the deceased, and that is an influx homelessness. United States alongside its allies, which are responsible for those major problems, issued a decree that they would take and ‘liberate’ those who had lost their homes, even if some of them are still loyal to the Viet government, thus, this self-proclaimed ‘liberation’ created the earliest record of Vietnamese immigrant in the United States, which peaked at approximately hundred and thousand immigrants. The horde of Viet who came to the United States were placed in a remote place in New York. There, some of the unorthodox folk integrated with the local society while the other had established an isolationistic settlement, in which they refused to fully integrate with the American society as they still hold resentment towards the US. This action, thus, sparked a wave of unrest and disapproval from American people towards the Vietnamese which led to a series of racial segregation. In just 10 years, the Viet community in New York had fallen into a place with no hopes, high crime rate, drugs, and gangs. With major problems such as those aforementioned stuffs, and several factions attempting to seize powers from within, its downfall was inevitable. But in 1992, after enduring a battle of wits against his foes, a breakthrough was made by none other than Thuy Thai “Alan” Tan. He had seized quite a handful of influences over the Vietnamese community in New York, and he wanted to expand his influence further down the, which he purposely targeted San Andreas. He went there while leaving someone whom he trusted in New York, to resurrect itself from the brink of destruction. Within the next five years, he grandiosely constructed a solid foundation of a new community, he named it NDT. NDT itself stands for Nhân đôi Tám or Double-Eight (88), a pair of numbers which are considered to be a lucky number. The NDT employed different tactics than its predecessor, as it tried to maintain a clean front to clear up suspicions. They were all told to put on “a mask of amiability”. At first, it was a decisive victory, but then as NDT gained more favors, some of their foes began to view NDT as an aggressor to their business and tried to frame NDT under Thuy Thai Tan’s leadership. This action itself, ignited several confrontations which evolved into a full-blown war in 1997 between NDT and its rivals that lasted for three consecutive year. During those years, NDT had finally shown their true, ferocious nature. On April 21st of 2000, in the midst of the turmoil, Thuy Thai “Alan” Tan was shot and did not survive. NDT was left without a capable leader and soon, it’s going to follow their predecessor’s path. There were attempts to restore the orders, but to no avail. They remained scattered all over the state of San Andreas, thus the first generation of NDT ceased to exist. __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ On August 2019, once again, things were set in motion as if history decided to repeat itself. A capable man who shared the same idea as the previous leader was born, not in actual term, but rather, the man had endured enough hardship and had forged a mind, capable of leading. The man in question is Truong Phan Nam or known as Brandon Truong. He who had lost hope, after the death of his best friend, decided to form a group to shield `ese, those youngsters who didn’t have a home, under the name of 88 Boyz / NDT, whose hidden objective is to continue Alan Tan’s will. So, Brandon Truong roamed all over the street, calling for those who craved for a family. The first one that heeded to his call were the Hong brothers; Eric Hong, Timothy Hong, and Brent Hong. Soon, the clique began to grow bigger and bigger with the arrival of Huynh “James” Ngoch, a shrewd man; and Liam Binh. In spite of the hardship, they were determined youngsters who’s seeking for something they’d proudly call family and home, and they all challenged the trials together. But that happiness might come to an end if it were not for Tong Viet “Damien” Thai’s help. Damien was a man that lived on the eastern hemisphere, someone whose name could instill fear and dread in one’s mind. Damien Thai offered a deal – he would protect 88 Boyz, provide anything necessary for their survival in exchange for their sovereignty, that they would become Born-to-Kill’s branch. Brandon Truong agreed to the terms, and thus the name changed into 88 BTK Boyz / NDT, with the Born-to-Kill as their patron and protector. As a token of approval to seal off the agreements, Damien Thai provided a safe haven for the Vietnamese folks; he gave off two small-sized houses in outer Jefferson for the 88’s members to reside in. The 88 Boyz welcomed his generosity, and promised that they would not betray Born-to-Kill and lived onto their expectation. Damien Thai, whose business had been settled, returned back home with a message for 88 Boyz to expect for a further instruction. Several months later, on early September of 2019, the clique had received messages from Damien to come and get “the stuffs”, 88 Boyz heeded to the call and began mobilizing a group of hauler to smuggle the drugs. Then, some of 88’s folks were sent to the eastern hemisphere, to the BTK’s main territory in accordance to Damien Thai’s terms; that the New York’s Born-to-Kill would give a trial period to determine whether 88 Boyz could prosper or succumb, and they demanded that 88 Boyz should send some of their members periodically to come and collect the stuffs, and smuggle them all across the America, from the east – to the west. At first glance, they were all reluctant to do that, because they were all greenhorns and rookies in these kind of stuffs, but they agreed, thus, 88 Boyz sent a group under Lam Duong, Jang Nguyen, Eric Hong and Liam Binh’s lead to haul the stuffs. They all succeeded, and they brought them to a safe place whose location remained disclosed. By the late of November 2019, things were easy and stable, no more problem for the clique, thanks to Damien Thai’s deeds and help. The family had enganged in various small scale activities, mainly drugs dealing as a way to earn reputation – a key deterrence to determine one’s life spans (in this case, the clique’s) – and money. At first, things were heated internally as some of the youngsters refused to sell drugs, but they had come to realize that they were not going to survive if they didn’t commit that, they were not a die-hard idealistic human being. Some of the outer part of Jefferson had fallen into Vietnamese’s sphere of influence, and it had a significant amount of Vietnamese’s existence in there. Brandon Truong (with Damien’s help) had successfully provided a safe haven for the Vietnamese folks. But in December 2019, things went south. 88 BTK Boyz were involved in a small dispute against the “black community” in the east. Its main casus belli were unknown and is yet to be known, but it’s safe to assume that they were fighting for customers. Then, the rivalry escalated into a small-scale gunfight. Both leaders of became worried that it’d soon escalated into a full-blown war, which they wanted to avoid at all cost, considering the amount of casualties they’d both receive. However, a shred of miracle happened in December 21st, 2019. Both representatives, the leaders of 88 BTK Boyz and that “black community” decided to round up to discuss the continuity of their dispute. Both sides had come to an agreement and signed a truce, and thus “Christmas Truce” came into an existence. Month by months, the situation had become very stable, no wars, no enemies. They experienced what they called “prosperity”. Their drugs deal skyrocketed, and they held quite a significant amount of reputation, no one dared to cross path with 88 BTK Boyz at that time. But that prosperous era was about to come to an end. On February 7th, 2020, Brandon Truong appointed three Rong, someone underneath Brandon whose responsibility is to handle their oversized and overly grown porch. Those three were Elliot Dat, Joe Puc, and Liam Binh. This action caused some of the top notch member to complain with the decision Brandon Truong made. One of them was Lam Duong who fought back against the decision-maker, and he caused discontent inside the family which eventually led to his mutiny in February 20th, whose aim was to overthrow Brandon Truong’s reign. A series of internal conflict, rebellion, and rats drove 88 BTK Boyz off the corner to the point where their overspanned territories were reduced into a small chunk of block, and their former territories was taken by other gangs. To make things worse, in March 2nd, two of the higher-ups; Elliot Dat and Joe Puc was arrested and sentenced into a 15 years of imprisonment without parole, and their small territory was seized by the police. The now-in-exile 88 Boyz took a quick measure, and made a decision to move away from the center of the city, to a somewhere remote but decent place, and that’s Playa Del Seville. After that to fill the vacancies of Rong, Brandon Truong then appointed Eric Hong and James Ngoch as their substitution. The hard fought war between 88 Boyz against the rebellion was compromised with the death of rebel’s leader, Lam Duong in April 21st, 2020, thereafter ending the war of atrition. It took a full nine months to be able to recover from the aftermath of the war. As of now, the family had recovered, not wholy, but enough to set things in motion, again, for the second time.
