$Peezy$ Posted July 30 Posted July 30 The Gage Maravilla (GMV) or Gage Maravilla Rifa (GMVR) are a Hispanic-American gang, based in East Los Santos. Formed in the 1980s, the Gage Maravilla spawned two different cliques, the Maravilla Rifa (1st Generation) and Gage Boys (2rd Generation). Members are known to wear apparel by the Green Bay Packers to signify their affiliation with the Gage Maravilla. Like many fractions of the Maravilla Gangs, the Gage Maravilla is a (Tax-Free) gang, meaning they don’t pay homage to the Mexican Mafia (La Eme). LONG-STANDING FEUD W/ MEXICAN MAFIA In 1957 at the Deuel Vocational Institutation (DIV), several members of the Gage Maravilla including Miguel “Ghost” Salazar, Ernesto “Trigger” Valdez, and Raul “Sniper” Ortega witnessed the early formation of La Eme (Mexican Mafia), which was established to protect Mexican-American inmates from violence and discrimination. This first generation of the Gage Maravilla began to understand and adopt La Eme’s culture and rules, seeing them as a source of both protection and a sense of brotherhood within the prison system. The relationship between the two groups grew increasingly close from the 1970s through the late 1980s, during which time La Eme became an integral part of prison life while Gage Maravilla continued to maintain their barrio identity both inside and outside prison walls. However, this dynamic changed drastically in 1993 when La Eme began expanding its influence into barrios in East Los Santos by mandating the payment of “Renta” (Tax) and demanding absolute compliance. Viewing this policy as a violation of their autonomy and an interference in internal affairs they had managed independently for decades, Gage Maravilla’s senior members firmly rejected the tax rule in early 1994 to preserve their group’s dignity, history, and freedom. This refusal prompted La Eme to issue a “Greenlight” (Hood Hits) in mid-1994, plunging Gage Maravilla into a period of prolonged conflict and pressure. Despite continuing to face threats, they remained steadfast in their stance, ushering in the era of “Tax-Free Maravillas” a symbol of resistance and independence in defending their community’s identity against external pressure. GMV vs. KAM13 (1996 Present) It began when La Eme declared a “Greenlight” for the entire Maravilla Gang. the Krazzy Ass Mexicans, whose territory bordered that of the Gage Maravilla, Krazzy Ass Mexican do Strikes Up in the Gage Avenue area, across from Chaves Ave. Their activities were noticed by several Gage Maravilla members who were in the area, and in 1996, the feud between Gage Maravilla and the Krazzy Ass Mexican began: When two Krazzy Ass Mexican members realized their activities were being monitored by Gage Maravilla members, they began pointing their guns at three Gage Maravilla gang members. The Krazzy Ass Mexican members used this opportunity to flee to a safe area across Soto Street the Krazzy Ass Mexican side of the hood, but the Gage Maravilla members continued to chase them while shouting “Fuck Hamster” a diss name for the Krazzy Ass Mexican. This series of incidents lasted nearly two years without any loss of life, the racial tension of this feud reached its peak on May 28, 1998, while the Krazzy Ass Mexican gang was holding a series of “Hood Parties”, A black SUV pulled up and began a Drive-By Shooting at Krazzy Ass Mexican members; Ramon “Honcho” Urena (19) and Juan “Joker” Salazar (26) were killed at the event. Following several incidents that exposed the feud between Gage Maravilla and Krazzy Ass Mexican, the LS Gang Unit launched a series of efforts, including a gang injunction and the arrest of Gage Maravilla’s alleged leaders, Sebastian “Flaco” Amayo (39) and Oscar “Peysoh” Sancho (38). Gage Maravilla’s activities had been severely curtailed due to intensive patrols by the LS Gang Unit and the gang is believed to have been inactive for several decades. GAGE BOYS / PRESENT DAYS In 2002, a shooting that had been presumed inactive for several decades claimed the life of Miguel “Sniper” Urena (16) in the Gage Avenue area. The police’s initial suspicion was that a gang feud had resurfaced; Miguel was identified as a member of the Gage Maravilla gang, marked by an “M” tattoo on his neck and “MARVELOUS” on his back. Initial findings indicated two gunshot wounds to the chest. Police conducted a thorough search of the Gage Avenue area using street and store CCTV footage, but unfortunately, no conclusive results were found due to the lack of footage directly pointing to the crime scene. Initial reports identified a Silver AUDI A4 with four people in balaclava. The investigation stalled for several weeks due to a lack of evidence pointing to the perpetrators, and police suspected that gang activity on Gage Avenue had resumed. This suspicion was confirmed when Kevin 'Maniac' Ortega (26) the son of Raul 'Sniper' Ortega and a second-generation 'Shot Caller' for Gage Maravilla was arrested. Police only realized that following the arrests of Sebastian “Flaco” Amayo (39) and Oscar “Peysoh” Sancho (38), Gage Maravilla’s activities had not simply ceased; rather, they remained active during the gang injunction, albeit not as actively as before, Names like Alonzo ‘HeadEcho’ Perez (19), Jusian ‘Jawelry’ Josesa (17), Julian 'Fleco' Montoyo (20), and Lucho ‘Cuervo’ Tamayo (19) introduced Gage Maravilla’s second generation, known as the Gage Boys (GB). They actively recruited young Latinos who were interested in gangs whether they thought being part of a gang was cool or were joining simply to find their identity and seek protection. The Gage Boys were initially introduced as the second clique after the Maravilla Rifa, the second clique of Gage Maravilla. The Gage Boys implemented a more comprehensive management structure for the gang compared to Maravilla Rifa; they organized themselves into various divisions, such as the Tagger Krew and Drug Dealers, to support the gang’s economy. $Peezy$ Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 The Gage Maravella Rifa are here to create a realistic portrayal of the Gage Maravella Rifa, with our own little spin on it. Upon joining there are a few things you must complete prior to role-playing with our faction. We would like for our members to do their research and have basic knowledge of LA gang politics as well as knowledge of the Gage Maravella Rifa. If you're not serious about role-playing with us or you don't have any quality role-play to contribute to the faction then don't even bother trying to join because you will be removed from the faction by our leadership. We encourage members to focus on character development. We are accepting members who are willing to take constructive criticism and are willing to learn. For questions and concerns directly associated with our faction overall can be directed here to our leadership. Character Portrayal: Make your character have some realistic traits, your character shouldn't be 6'5 at fourteen, be different from everyone else. Be unique so everyone doesn't look the same, ages for a local should be from 12-16 years of age, the youngest you go most of the time gives you the best role-play to do as a person around the hood. There is a mod-pack being worked on for people in the area. When joining the discord place down the information for your character in the "Information" channel which will also consist of your character-kill permission, which hopefully won't be used internally but to better the role-play. Don't give up on portrayal early stay consistent. Disclaimer(s): We are not affiliated with the Sureños or the Nortenos. Gage Maravilla is an independent gang that has existed since the founding of La Eme (Mexican Mafia) and was once part of the Sureños for several decades but decided to leave due to tax demands from the Mexican Mafia under the pretext of providing protection in prison as well as the gang’s authoritarian leadership, which hindered its operations, Gage Maravilla was functioning well before the Mexican Mafia’s interference; instead, the Mexican Mafia launched a preemptive strike known as a “Greenlight” against Gage Maravilla, resulting in their current hostility toward several gangs under the Mexican Mafia’s umbrella (Sureños). We role-play using existing references and are not part of the Sureños or Nortenos, and we expect that this gang will bring a different vibe from the existing ones, while still maintaining the balance of the Mexican Gang.
