Keenan's mother, Sophia Polk, was a nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital and was still relatively new there, having just graduated from nursing school. Keenan's father is of American-British descent and is named Hartford Polk. He works in London, England, at a famous car company called Aston Martin, which is why his father rarely comes home due to the distance and cost. Keenan finally enrolled in elementary school in the Bronx, New York. Keenan had an advantage over other children in that he was smart and always ranked in the top 5 in elementary school, which was likely inherited from his parents. During middle school and high school, Keenan aspired to attend college in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from high school, Keenan took the time to visit his grandparents' house in the rural town of Hempstead, New York. Keenan told his grandparents that he wanted to attend college in Los Angeles, California, and wanted to major in engineering because his father had advised him to do so in order to replace his father at the Aston Martin car company. His grandmother and grandfather seemed to agree, but they reminded Keenan that wherever he goes, he must respect the customs of that place. After receiving his grandparents' blessing, Keenan finally returned to his mother's house to plan his college enrollment and ask his father, who was in England, to take a leave of absence. One day, Keenan and his parents were ready to depart for Los Angeles, California. The university there was very large and well-known for its quality, and Keenan was finally accepted there and enrolled in the engineering department. The three of them looked for accommodation nearby, and his parents stayed for three days before saying goodbye to Keenan and returning to New York. His parents advised him to be a good son and work at his father's company after graduation. After four years of studying engineering, Keenan finally graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering and received good grades. In the end, Keenan decided to stay in California while waiting for a job opening from his father's company, Aston Martin.
