His father disappeared before he was born, leaving his mother, Vanessa Amari, to raise him and his older brother, Malik Amari, alone. Malik, ten years older, became Elijah's protector and role model, shielding him from the harsh realities of their world. As a kid, Elijah was sharp, observant, and quick to learn. He stayed out of trouble, focusing on school and his passion, basketball, while Malik climbed the ranks of the Black Disciples, a feared street gang. By 15, Elijah was flipping sneakers, using his smarts to make a name for himself and enough cash to keep himself out of trouble. Elijah followed his brother's advice to focus on school, basketball, and earning money. At 17, his world shattered when Malik was arrested in a police raid, betrayed by someone within the Black Disciples. Sentenced to 15 years behind bars, with Malik gone, people started looking at Elijah differently. The gang saw him as his brother's successor, while others saw him as just another kid bound to follow the same path. He tried to stay on his own course, enrolling in college to study business and marketing, but no one truly escapes their past in Southside. The weight of Malik's legacy was always on his shoulders, and the Black Disciples never let him forget it. Now, at 22, Elijah has made his choice. He's leaving it all behind. With nothing but a few belongings and a dream of a fresh start, he moves to Los Santos, where his mother now lives. The city offers new opportunities, a chance to escape the shadows of his past. He takes on small jobs, trying to build a life away from gang politics. But even in Los Santos, the streets have their own rules, and Elijah knows that no matter how far he runs, the past has a way of catching up.
