The West Side Water Gates Crips, a predominantly African-American criminal street gang, operate independently on the West Side of Hawthorne, specifically in the 500 Block of Daisy Avenue. Emerging in the 1980s at the core of Hawthorne near Myrtle St between Crenshaw Blvd and Van Ness Blvd, the Water Gates Crips are affiliated with the Rollin 100's Crips sets, which encompass various gangs from Los Angeles, Orange County, and Hawthorne. Their factions include the 116th Street, 117th Street, with the primary presence on 119th Street, and Nottingham Avenue serves as a residential thoroughfare within their neighborhood. Despite their affiliation, the Water Gates Crips are among the less active gangs within the Rollin 100's sets, largely due to competing factions like the Westmont Locals or the Rollin 100's Locals, which attract newer members, leaving the Water Gates Crips with a higher proportion of older members.
 

Roll Or Get Rolld, Aligned with most gangs under the Rollin 100's Crips sets and the Neighborhood Crip/Card, such as Budlong Gangster Crips, Raymond Avenue Crips, and even the less active Hard Time Hustler Crips, the Water Gates Crips have established alliances. Their adversaries include the Hawthorne Piru Gang and the West Side Denver Lane Bloods, but their primary rivals are the Deuce Tray Gangster Crips (or The 23GC), with whom they have historical conflicts regarding fallen comrades during the Water Gates Crips' Hood Day celebrations.
 

The Water Gates Crips have also been engaged in feuds with other Crip gangs under the Neighborhood Crips card, including the 111 Neighborhood Crips, 112 Neighborhood Crips, and 115 Neighborhood Crips, resulting in some members facing allegations and incarceration. Presently, conflicts extend to groups such as IFGB, CMGB, APG, SGC, HGC, and formerly IVC.
