The Viet Boyz, or VBZ, are an Asian American street gang. The gang was formed in 1985 by Cambodian and Laos youths who joined together to protect the Asian community from almost daily attacks from Hispanic gang members in the Los Santos. The Viet Boyz gang consist mainly of Cambodians although there are a sizeable number of Laotian, Thais, Filipino, Korean, and Chinese members. A few non-Asian members have also been allowed to join.

VBZ started 'summer of maddness', Alleged TRG member killed a VBZ at a parking lot in Idlewood. July 1995, VBZ spot two TRG members at the Club, killing them in retaliation for the shooting in Idlewood. In August 1997, the leader of the Viet Boyz Timothy Vu set, Aaron Nguyen the brother of Justin Hyun, was arrested in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and brought back to the United States after fleeing the country in January of that year. He was wanted for committing five gang-related murders in the San Fierro in 1995. On September 20, 1998, seven Viet Boyz were charged with seven murders, 18 attempted murders and five instances of conspiracy to commit murder in Los Santos, San Andreas in 2005. Three members of the gang were charged with beating a 15-year-old boy to death in Liberty City in January 2007. On March 19, 2008, Viet Boyz member Timothy Vu was charged with murdering an innocent by-stander in a shoot-out in Idlewood, San Andreas.

 

The gang consists of a small amount of members, ranging from their early teens to their mid-twenties. Gang members identify themselves by sporting mostly black and white clothings. The gang's recent activities around the Cardinal Park's neighborhood the past few years has established VBZ as a gang with a dominant presence in it's area. Crimes known to be committed by the VBZ members include extortion, home invasions, robberies, assault, kidnapping and several shootings are linked to the gang as well.

Residents living in VBZ's turf have little to say about the gang out of fear that they too will find themselves looked at as a snitch and will be a target. There has been several VBZ members caught for being linked to several shootings or for having a Viet Boyz tattoo around their body area, showing the gang's ruthless actions towards "snitches" all of the residents knows it’s best for them if they stay quiet. Viet Boyz also known as VBZ have made their presence known to both rivals and locals, and to the rest of Cardinal Park, they pose a threat to the safety that has already been diminished in the neighborhood.

Recently there has been an uprise in graffiti related to the Viet Boyz over in Cardinal Park and around East LS Courts.

Members of the Vietnamese Boyz are usually seen having a black bandana hanging from their back left pocket and sporting Raiders clothing due to their original colors were black and wear custom clothings with a "V" on it or "22", the “V” symbolizing “Viet Boyz”
