Yves Bellingham Raised in a luxurious old mansion in the Cotswolds, England, Yves ‘Ivy’ Bellingham was born on 8 August 2004, she is the youngest child and only daughter of Alistair and Eleanor Bellingham. A spoiled mama's girl, Yves lived a comfortable life in the shadow of her three older brothers named Arthur, Julian and Tristan, who all have successfully followed in their father’s footsteps in the worlds of business and law. Her mother, Eleanor, arranged everything for Yves down to the last detail, from her consistently elegant and feminine outfits to her social circle, whilst her three brothers were always protective and believed their little sister would never be able to stand on her own two feet. Her parents’ expectations were simple but absolute: Yves must marry into the upper classes and continue the tradition of a quiet life in the English countryside. However, although Yves enjoyed a life of luxury and had a passion for fashion, she never truly aligned with the future that had been mapped out for her. Because of her overly innocent, cheerful and somewhat forgetful personality, Alistair and Eleanor often underestimated her assuming she was merely a pretty blonde girl who wasn’t very smart, without realizing that a ripple of rebellion was slowly emerging behind her polite smile. The conflicts in their family never involved shouting or dramatic arguments; everything was wrapped up in a polite, gentle tension that reached its peak when Yves turned twenty. Alistair and Eleanor began urging Yves to take up an internship at a family-run art gallery, a subtle move to tie her down forever within their comfort zone so that she would not be ‘left behind’ by the achievements of Arthur, Julian and Tristan. Feeling her freedom of movement growing ever more restricted and tired of always being seen as the weakest of the family, Yves made the most reckless decision of her life when one of her close friends announced plans to move to Los Santos. Driven by a sense of weariness with the same old routine and a strong desire to prove to her parents and three older brothers that she could stand on her own two feet, Yves packed her suitcases and immediately flew across the Atlantic. She arrived in San Andreas with extra spending money that Eleanor had secretly sent her out of concern, and absolutely no experience of surviving on the streets. For the ever-optimistic Yves, Los Santos was simply an exciting coastal city where she could freely try her hand at independent living, free from the shadow of her family's criticism. However, the reality of Los Santos hit her hard in the first few months. Used to her polite and formal old environment, Yves was far too easily trusting of new people, making her an easy target for local con artists. She lost a lot of money after being scammed into paying a deposit for a fake shop premises, and even had her bags stolen from her car because she’d forgotten to lock the doors. Interestingly, rather than breaking down in tears and calling her mother, Eleanor, to ask for a ticket home, or complaining to her older siblings who would undoubtedly have come to pick her up straight away, this string of misfortunes actually brought out a stubborn side that Yves had never shown before. She refused to give in to her situation because she couldn’t bear the thought of returning home a failure in Alistair’s eyes. Although she still often appears confused and a little absent-minded, Yves is beginning to learn to read situations and not immediately trust people’s sweet talk. She is no longer the spoilt girl just passing through; Yves is in the process of adapting to the harshness of Los Santos, determined to forge her own path without needing to ride on the Bellingham name any longer.
