He was eight, sitting in the backseat of the family’s black Bentley, listening to his father’s voice crack while his mother stared out the window. “It’s just money,” she said, but Ralph already knew better, then born on November 14, 1985, in Manhattan, ralph Peruzzi grew up in a penthouse overlooking Central Park. His father, Marco Peruzzi and his mother, Sophia Love, chaired charity galas. At least that was the case. Ralph’s older sister, Claudia Love, was the perfect debutante, always smiling for photos. Ralph wasn’t like that. He carried a calculator in his pocket, even as a kid. Dinner conversations were about stocks, not feelings. “Never let anyone see you bleed,” his father told him once. Ralph took it to heart. Not that it mattered much. He always chose money over everything since he know money can buy him anything that he wanted. It all fell apart in 2008. Ralph was 23, fresh out of Harvard, working at his father’s firm. The crash hit like a freight train. Marco lost everything, even the penthouse. Ralph found him in the kitchen one night, staring at a bottle of whiskey. “You think money’s everything until it’s gone,” Marco said. Ralph didn’t answer as he walked out that night, took a cab to the airport, and flew to Singapore. The old man’s words echoed in his head, but Ralph wasn’t scared. Money wasn’t everything, then it was the only thing. He spent the next five years building his own empire, one deal at a time. “You’re just like your father,” Sophia said during a rare phone call. Ralph hung up. By 2015, ralph was a millionaire again. He met Lena at a conference in Dubai, a sharp-tongued investment banker who laughed at his jokes. They married six months later, mostly for tax reasons. Ralph bought a mansion in Miami hired a chef who could cook his favorite pasta dish exactly the way he liked it. But something was missing. He lost million on a bad deal in 2019, spent three days locked in his office, not eating, not sleeping Lena left him the following year as “You’re impossible to love,” she said. Ralph didn’t argue. He just kept working. These days, he carries his father’s old watch everywhere, even though it doesn’t work anymore. It’s a reminder, he says, then of what, he won’t tell anyone. At the end of the day money stay that's what he always sitting on every years.
