        Derick Collins was born in Marseille on January 1, 2001. As a child, he loved playing volleyball with his friends at school. He joined several competitions and won many matches with his teammates. When he was 7, he was already very good at mathematics and was known as a genius in his class. One day in high school, while he was sitting in class listening to his teacher explain trigonometry, he noticed that she had made a mistake that no one else caught. With his brilliant mind, Collins raised his hand and told the teacher that she was wrong about what she had taught a moment earlier. His teacher was impressed, and the entire class burst into applause. From that day on, everyone at school began calling him “the Genius Boy.”

 

        In 2019 he finished school and ranked first as the top student in his graduating class. His father is a math teacher and his mother is a shopkeeper at the jewelry store and they are really proud of him knowing their son is really smart. He studied at Universite Paris-Saclay, majoring in Mathematics Education. During his time at university, he began working as a private tutor for schoolchildren. Through this work, he earned his own income and received his first $1000. One thing about Collins is that he doesn't have many close friends, but he is very kind and always willing to help others, even strangers. One day, his friend contacted him to borrow some money. Without giving it a second thought, Collins gave away almost all of his savings. Less than a week later, he heard the news that his friend had gone abroad and run off with all of his money.

 

        After his parents learned about what had happened, they became angry and thought he was foolish and careless. They told him that without wisdom, his knowledge was meaningless. From that moment on, Collins felt deeply disappointed. One day, while he was at his university canteen, some of his friends approached him and invited him to go to a club with them. Collins agreed, got drunk, and even used drugs. A few days later, the university authorities found out, and he was expelled due to several violations. He lost everything. Suddenly, one of his friends discovered that the friend who had run off with his money was in the United States. At that very moment, Collins left his country and went to the United States without telling anyone.
