The neighborhood where he grew up was filled with graffiti on the walls, the sound of police sirens, and rivalries between gangs that had become an everyday story for local residents. Lianzo was used to seeing small disputes turn into big fights on the corner of his block. When he was twelve years old, Lianzo lost his father who was imprisoned for armed robbery. Since then, his mother has done whatever she can to meet her daily needs, while Lianzo has spent more time on the road. It was there that he began to become close to a group of teenagers who he later became known as the forerunners. Lianzo initially just joined in, acting as a messenger. Entering a dozen years, Lianzo's name began to be known in his street gang environment because of his courage to face rival gangs without fear. He was involved in several fights to protect his friends, so he was seen as a reliable figure. However, Lianzo harbors disgust at the violence that has claimed many lives in his own neighborhood. This feeling of hatred emerged every time he saw his mother crying when the news of the shooting appeared on the old television screen in their house. At eighteen, after one of his best friends was killed in a shootout, Lianzo began to think about a new direction for his gang. He persuaded other members to reduce the conflict and start looking for income from activities that did not attract the attention of the police, such as small motorbike repair shops and security services for shops. Slowly but surely, some residents began to see the Lianzo gang as not just a source of trouble, but also protectors of the area. Now, in his early twenties, Lianzo stands at the crossroads between a dark past and the hope of change. He still leads a street gang, but with a different goal of protecting the block he grew up on, while trying to steer a new generation away from the cycle of violence that once dragged him down. Lianzo Barrueco knows that his name will remain attached to the world of the streets, but he is determined to make it a symbol of survival and second chances, not just a criminal record in the police archives.
