Skinny.

Chapter 1: First move

 

   After living at the Idlewood Motel for several months, Zaylen Velazquez, also known as Skinny, enrolled in high school in Crenshaw. Skinny didn’t havemany friends at school because he was severely bullied; he faced racism and insults due to his low socioeconomic status. In his neighborhood at the Idlewood Motel, Skinny befriended members of the Playboy 13 gang. He participated in many of their activities, listened to their advice, and learned to survive in a tough environment. After spending a long time with them, Skinny earned the trust of the entire gang, including the OG, Julian “Casper” Erasmo. Skinny received his put-on at age 18, meaning he officially became a member of the Playboys 13 gang. Alongside the Playboy 13 members, Skinny has engaged in numerous gang activities, such as vandalism, racism, assault, and even shooting rival gang members. This transformed Skinny into a different person than he used to be; he, who had once been the target of racism, now dared to fight back against it.

 

   One day, while Skinny and other gang members were attacking their rival gang, the local police caught them and gave chase. Skinny and his friends fought back by firing from their moving vehicle. However, their efforts were in vain; they were shot by the police and eventually apprehended. Skinny and his gang members’ actions constituted extremely serious criminal offenses, leading the police to imprison them. However, since Skinny was a minor and this was his first time in prison, the authorities decided to reduce his sentence to just a few months. This was Skinny’s first cell. A few days after his mother learned that Skinny had been arrested, the school contacted her to inform her that Skinny had been expelled for a very serious violation of school rules. This was a heavy blow to Skinny while he was in his cell.

 

   After several months in jail, the day of Skinny’s release finally arrived. Still reeling from the experience, Skinny tried to pull himself together. He returned to the motel and reunited with the other gang members as usual. Skinny began looking for a job to help his mother make ends meet. Julian “Casper” Erasmo became a hero when Skinny was at his lowest point. He offered Skinny a job as a cleaner at his tattoo shop in Idlewood. Skinny accepted and began working there. After nearly a year on the job, Skinny and his mother managed to buy a small house in the Idlewood Complex and moved out of the motel.
