Shiloh Young is an African-American youth born in December 2005. He lives in Compton, an area dominated by street gangs. His father works in a factory, while his mother is a housewife. He also has an older brother named Dashonte Young. Dashonte is a member of a criminal street gang that controls Compton as a drug distribution area. The gang is called the Summerhouse Hustlers. Even though Shiloh has an older brother who is a gang member and lives in a crime-ridden area, he is not influenced by anyone, not even his own friends. He is intelligent, studies hard, and is determined to continue his education in Los Santos.

When Shiloh was a child, her father died of a heart attack while working, causing Shiloh to experience a great loss. That moment changed Shiloh's perspective on life. As a result of this incident, her mother finally decided to work, replacing her father as the breadwinner of the family. Dashonte continued to do the same thing, he still worked distributing drugs to local residents, and Dashonte also often helped his mother with financial matters, and always advised Shiloh not to be like him, who was lost on the streets, only selling drugs without any achievements. Hearing this advice, Shiloh became even more determined to pursue higher education outside of Compton.

Until one day, when Shiloh graduated from school, an unexpected event occurred. Dashonte was arrested by the police and charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, resulting in a 10-year prison sentence. Hearing this, Shiloh was shocked. He never expected this to happen, which made him feel hopeless again and think about giving up on his dreams. Even so, his mother continued to encourage Shiloh to achieve his goals, supporting him in his dreams. After the incident, because his mother did not want her second child to get involved in the same thing, they decided to leave Compton and move to East Los Santos to start a new life.
