   In Dry Season, Marjan Santangel or goes by Ramon, was born in Michoacan, a region in Mexico known for cartel activity, drug routes, and gun violence. His father, a former military mechanic, used to repair and modify weapons for local criminal groups. When Marjan was 12, his father was shot and killed during a bad deal. With no stable family left, Marjan grew up around criminals, learning how to survive on the streets. He started off running packages, cleaning guns, and acting as a lookout. By his teenage years, he already had basic knowledge of how illegal deals worked and how to keep his mouth shut.
 

   At 18, he crossed into the United States with the help of an uncle and found work in Ocean Dock as a garage assistant. A few years later, he moved to East Los Santos, looking for better opportunities. He took jobs fixing cars during the day, but at night, he used his old connections from Mexico to start smuggling firearms. He began selling small pistols and shotguns to low-level gangs, but word spread fast that Marjan was reliable and kept things quiet. By 22, he had built a small supply chain between East Los Santos and Marina, occasionally using port connections to bring in higher-grade weapons.

 

   Now 26, Marjan runs a discreet, independent gun-running operation. He doesn’t work for any one group, but sells to whoever pays upfront and doesn’t bring problems. He drives an old SUV, uses burner phones, and keeps his operation mobile. He avoids unnecessary violence but carries at least one firearm at all times. Marjan doesn’t care about power or respect; he’s focused on money, staying alive, and never ending up like his father. In a city like Los Santos, trust is rare, and loyalty is expensive. Marjan has learned to rely only on himself.
