Marquez Bernal was born back in ‘04, in this beat-up little spot in El Corona, Los Santos. Place was falling apart, but that was home. Out here, you couldn’t shut the world out even if you tried — bass from somebody’s speakers a block away, folks arguing on the sidewalk, cars tearing past like they were running from something, and sirens cutting through the night like a blade. His pops, Arturo, kept a garage running… barely. Most weeks it was just enough to keep food on the table. His mom, Leticia, worked her hands raw cleaning rooms at this busted motel off the freeway. She’d come home late, eyes heavy, smelling like bleach, but still pushing through.
 

Growing up, Marquez stayed close to his big brother, Omarion. That was his shield — the one who made sure nobody messed with him. But Omarion was knee-deep in the streets, and everyone knew it. Then one day, the cops snatched him up on a gun charge. Just like that, he was gone, and Marquez knew… the streets had their grip on his family, whether he liked it or not. With Omarion locked up, Marquez started hanging outside more, walking the same blocks his brother used to run. It started small — drop this off, tell so-and-so this message, keep watch on the corner. Nothing crazy… but you learn quick out here. You learn when to talk, when to shut your mouth, and when to ghost before the wrong crowd notices you.
 

When Omarion came home, he made noise fast. Let everybody know the clique, Down as Fuck, wasn’t dead. Walls all over El Corona started lighting up with their name in fat letters. Those tags weren’t for show — they were a statement. Now Marquez is twenty-one. Ain’t just “Omarion’s little bro” anymore. He runs with Rafael Vertigo, Emmanuel Pinon, Samuel Lobos, and Lautaro Ochoa, pushing the clique under Evil Gang 13. People see him as the quiet one — the guy who’s always thinking three steps ahead, never moving unless he knows exactly how to walk away clean. Outside the gang, he messes with electronics. Fixes old TVs, busted radios, whatever people bring him. Sometimes they pay, sometimes they hand over junk he flips for a little cash. It’s not big money, but it’s his, and it keeps him from having to hustle for every dollar.
