$winstono.$ Posted May 16, 2025 Posted May 16, 2025 Bobby_DiGioia Bobby DiGioia came from a working-class family; Bobby was the fourth generation in the family, an Italian-American one. His great-grandfather was fresh off the boat in the 1910s during the great Italian immigration wave, hoping for a better life he could find over here than he previously had in his homeland. He and his wife entered through Ellis Island in New York and decided to settle in Little Italy, a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, after staying there for a couple of years. His great-grandfather initially worked at a construction site in the area while his great-grandmother worked as a housemaid at one of the prominent members' houses. Bobby DiGioia was born and grew up in South Philadelphia, his grandfather moved down here after his old man got busted by local police on smuggling moonshines into the country. South Philly also housed one of the largest Italian communities in the state, which was one of the reasons why this was the place his grandfather moved his family to. Bobby was always taught by his old man to stick to his own kind, and also kept the community tight as that could be a source of strength should push come to shove. And yet, the community mostly knew him for his infamy; he had his own gang, which consisted of 5 guys, including him, they consistently targeted the small businesses in the area and shook them down for protection. They also started to hijack trucks that contained clothes, suits, etc. A local mobster in the area finally took notice of the gang because these guys gradually rose to prominence and started to step in on their business: the truck hijack, the garbage route, the loanshark, etc. One day, they had a sit-down, the boss of the family offered Bobby and his gang to work for him, and they could use his name while being on the street—his name indeed carried such weight on the street around here. But Bobby turned down the offer and said he didn't want to work for anybody but himself, and then they left afterwards. The boss of the family wasn't the kind of man who was receptive to rejections, so they ordered his men to murder them, in the cruelest way possible, and through sheer luck, Bobby was the only one who managed to escape from the car bomb that took everyone's lives but his and went on the lam to the west coast, Los Santos, his life was shattered into thousand of pieces. He could only pick up what was left of it and start his life anew; a new identity; a new look, he shaved his beard, cut his hair, and lost his weight; in a new city—he left everything behind. Bobby took a cab job, for now, at least until he can stand up on his own feet, after that, he didn't know what would happen to him, he was at the crossroad in his life, he would let a turn of events changed his course and took him wherever it wanted to—but at the end of it all, he already set a new target in mind, to return to his home one day and avenge his fallen friends.
