Life had been quiet lately, far from the chaos that once filled his days. After a simple breakfast in his small kitchen, he sat still, his eyes fixed on the floor. Not long after, a honk echoed from outside. An old friend, someone he used to know well, came to pick him up. Without asking, Tucker got into the car. The ride was silent. The air between them felt cold, not because of the weather, but because of something unspoken. They said they had to meet the boss, settle something. Tucker didn’t ask. He knew the life he tried to leave behind would never truly forget him. Even if it was over, the streets still remembered his name. The car stopped at a quiet lakeside spot, the sun slowly fading behind the trees. There was no one else around. Tucker stepped out, slowly taking in the stillness. When he turned, his eyes met his friend’s, empty, distant, unreadable. In the blink of an eye, the gun appeared. One shot to the chest. His friend pulled the trigger. Just like that, Tucker dropped, his body slumping to the ground. No words, no chance to fight back. He lay there, motionless, as the footsteps behind him faded. His friend didn’t stick around. Without hesitation, without looking back. Just walked away, quietly, as if nothing had happened. The water beside Tucker rippled gently, catching the last bit of sunlight. Blood slowly pooled beneath him, spreading across the dirt and gravel. Night fell, silent and uncaring, swallowing the scene whole. No cries, no final breath.
