Lucas K Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 (edited) Lucas Kanashiro Lucas Kanashiro was born in 8 May 1999 in Kyoto, Tokyo, defined by Two Lineage and an unquenchable thirst for the knowledge of the world he lives in. Raised Between the radiating dualisms of the grand stories of ancient civilizations and the subtle elegance of Japanese artistry, he grew up in Kyoto with a Greek historian father and a Japanese artisan mother. He was a honest boy, and love to learning to new stuff all the time, despite this cultural wealth, he was often caught between two worlds, and never truly belonged to either of them. Following the death of his father in 2022, Lucas set off on a path to self discovery, travelling across the entirety of Greece and Japan to become fully immersed in the artistic and philosophical customs and cultures. He borrowed its simplicity while studying traditional Japanese ink painting in Kyoto. His search would eventually lead him to the vibrant yet chaotic city of Los Santos. Lucas plunked his character down directly into the vibrant art scene of the city, seduced by its artistic freedom and its cultures. His favorite market is in the Los Angeles neighborhoods where he traces the spirit of his father as a storyteller to Latino culture and where he found the simple beauty of Kyoto palpable. Los Santos was a new of his creating identity, far from the tranquillity of Kyoto or the colourful ruins of Greece. Amidst the turmoil, Lucas discovered his voice through philosophy inspired installations, experimental sculptures and urban murals. Far more than a means of self expression, his art showed that identity isn’t about picking one culture over another, but about embracing them all. And this is not the end of his story, among the chaos of Los Santos, he will find his reason to start feeling alive again.
