His parents, Kymani Damares and Shanice Zaviana, wanted a better life away from the struggles of their homeland. When Ziggy was eight, they moved to Los Santos, settling in a rough neighborhood where opportunities were scarce and crime was a daily reality. Growing up, Ziggy saw his father working long hours at a construction site while his mother cleaned houses for wealthy families. Despite their efforts, money was always tight, and the streets became an escape for Ziggy. By the time he was a teenager, he was already running with a local crew, learning the ways of survival in Los Santos. At 18, Ziggy fully embraced the gangster lifestyle. He started dealing small-time, hustling to make a name for himself. He wasn’t the loudest or the most reckless, but he was smart. He knew when to keep his mouth shut and when to make moves. His loyalty earned him respect, and soon, he was handling bigger deals, rolling with the right people, and making real money. But the street life came with its dangers. Ziggy lost close friends to violence, saw people switch sides, and learned that trust was rare. His mother begged him to leave the life behind, but he always told her, “This is all I know.” His father, though disappointed, knew he couldn’t change him. No matter what, Ziggy knew one thing he was attached to the street life. It was dangerous, but it was the only way he knew how to make money, the only way to survive. And in Los Santos, survival was everything. Ziggy realized that there was no other path for him to take in order to make enough money for his needs and survive on the streets, so he continued to do what he wanted even though it would put him in danger, and even his family did not hold out much hope for him.
