In a smoky pool hall late at night, the atmosphere was thick with tension as Ramirez, Jose Antonio, Luis Miguel, and Carlos Alberto gathered around the pool table, the game reaching its peak. A heated argument was brewing after a particularly tense game of billiards. It started small, with words being exchanged, but quickly escalated as Jose and Luis started to square off. The rest of the crowd began to clear out, sensing the growing hostility. Jose Antonio was the first to lose control, throwing a knee into Luis’s stomach. But Luis, quick to react, grabbed his arm and twisted it, slamming Jose onto the pool table. The tension was palpable as the crowd gathered around, half-entertained, half-worried. Luis grabbed a pool cue, raising it like a bat, ready to strike. Ramirez stepped in just in time, grabbing the cue from Luis’s hands. Jose wiped blood from his lip, glaring at Luis, his anger burning bright. Luis shrugged him off dismissively and spat on the floor near Jose, his contempt evident. Ramirez and Carlos quickly stepped between them, forcing them apart as the tension still simmered. Shouting at both men to calm down, Ramirez finally got them to back off, the fight temporarily subsiding.

The two men walked out of the bar, their frustrations unresolved, but the night was far from over. The streets grew quieter as they left the lights of the pool hall behind. Carlos and Ramirez drove through winding roads, leaving the city’s chaos behind them. The further they got, the more the neighborhood changed, the buildings disappearing as dense trees and silence surrounded them. The moon barely pierced the thick canopy above, casting long shadows across the secluded forest. Carlos parked the car, motioning for Ramirez to follow. Without a word, Carlos stepped out and walked into the forest, his steps slow and deliberate. Ramirez hesitated for a moment but followed. The quiet of the night was eerie, the only sound being the crunch of their boots on the dry leaves beneath them. As they walked deeper into the forest, Ramirez couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. The tension between him and Carlos from earlier still lingered, but he couldn’t figure out why they had stopped here, so far from the city. Without warning, Carlos stopped and turned, his face cold and unreadable. He reached into his jacket and pulled out an AK-47 from behind his back. The sudden movement shocked Ramirez, and he instinctively took a step back.

Ramirez froze, the realization dawning on him too late. He didn’t have a chance to react. Carlos fired. The bullet hit Ramirez in the chest, knocking him backward. He staggered but didn’t fall, the shock evident on his face. He barely had time to raise his hands in defense before Carlos fired again. This time, the bullet hit him in the head, and Ramirez dropped to the ground, lifeless. Carlos stood over him for a long moment, his breath heavy as he stared at the body, the rage in his eyes slowly fading. He finally tossed the AK-47 into the trunk of the car, his hands still shaking slightly. Lighting another cigarette, he took a long drag before throwing it on the ground and stomping it out.
