His father, Giovanni Fontana was a proud Italian immigrant had come to Brazil in the late 1980's. His mother, Maria Souza was warm, spirited Brazilian woman from the seaside of São Paulo. From an early age, Marcelo often felt torn between these two powerful world. His father taught him the value of tradition and patience, while his mother was filled his life with rhythm and warmth.. At age of 13 he move to San Diego because his father was transferred from São Paulo Office to San Diego Office. then he continue his Junior High School at Roosevelt Middle School, at school he'd be called "The Italian kid" or "The Brazilian kid" and neither ever seemed to fully capture who he was. During summer vacation his father took him to Italy to visit his family. In the peaceful countryside Marcelo saw a different way of living slow, calm, and timeless. he appreciated the beauty of it all but missed the energy and color of Brazil. Sitting on a hill Marcelo realized that he didn't have to choose between the two, he could embrace both the calm elegance of Italy and the lively spirit of Brazil. After Marcelo finish his Senior High School he take a gap year to search his passion. After he take a gap year he decide to take major in Business Law at University of San Diego. After he graduated from his University he take an intern at a real estate business in San Diego, he learn a lot from that company then he move to Los Santos to pursue his career to become a business man. But he still need money to make a living at Los Santos so he apply as a Taxi driver at Los Santos.
