Quackie Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Philips Hodge Philips Hodge opened his eyes in New York, Brooklyn on 14th January, 1996. Naturally, being born into a broken family had dramatic consequences on his up bringing. There was discord between his parents, which forced them to break-up when Philips was young and he would grow up without the sort of primary support that most people take for granted from their families. Living in a neighborhood dominated by gangs, he became engrossed within that culture, desperately trying to find a sense of belonging amidst all the chaos at home. 15 years of age and he had already lost himself into the world of gangs where he would indulge in petty thefts and street fights where there were some misplaced notions of friendship and strength. When he was just 18, Philips endured a setback as one of his close friends was caught in a violent struggle which resulted in serious injuries to the friend. This was the turning point for him in understanding the impact and disastrous consequences all his actions were having on anxious situation around himself. Knowing that the lifestyle he was practicing could eventually lead him to either a tomb or prison, he reached out for community programs which assist youths in avoiding gang life. With the help of caring mentors who understood his problems, Philips began to modify his behaviors and fill his life with passions like writing and music. Poetry and rap allowed him to express himself and contribute his life story in a way that encourages the hopeless and the suppressed. Now, Philips is regarded as a representation of strength and change. In concerning adolescent populations that are at risk of the vicious cycle of violence in Brooklyn, he actively seeks to resolve their predicaments and offer help. He mentors youngsters and engages them in the community with a hope of narrating a story of how he has gotten a break from a broken child and a gang to make it as a cover of hope. Such a life story shows what can be achieved with forgiveness and social capital in adversity and how obtuseness can be fought with under unbearable circumstances.
