Gustavo Cruz Mateo or usually called Mateo. Mateo was born on March 15, 1998 in Los Santos, America. His parents left Mateo when he was born, so Mateo grew up in an orphanage. Mateo lives with other orphans. Mateo is very close to a child named Marshall Deshaun. Mateo and Marshall were good friends until they were adults. They grew up together, shared stories, and got through everything together. Until Mateo grew up, Mateo and Marshall became the caretakers of the orphanage. One day Mateo thought about looking for and hoping to meet his parents. Because Mateo wants to know why his parents left him. Mateo invites Marshall to help him make his wish come true. But Marshall refused because he didn't want to leave the orphanage. In the end, after being persuaded by Mateo, Marshall wants to help Mateo in finding his parents.

 

After preparing a thorough plan, Mateo and Marshall left the orphanage. They felt deep sadness because they left their friends and orphaned children in the orphanage. But because of his wishes, Mateo must continue to carry out his plan with Marshall. According to the information obtained, Mateo's parents' house is in the El Corona area, Los Santos. Mateo went to the area to ask local people. After arriving in El Corona, Mateo and Marshall are afraid because of the many crimes in the area. Mateo and Marshall are stopped by a gangster in the area. Then Mateo and Marshall were asked by the gang about the purpose of their arrival. Mateo and Marshall said that the purpose of their visit was to look for Mateo's parents who live in the El Corona area. Mateo asked Marshall to show him a photo of Mateo's parents. When Marshall wanted to show a photo of Mateo's parents, suddenly another gang came and shot Mateo, Marshall and the El Corona gang from the car. They panicked and immediately ran to protect themselves. After the shooting was over, Mateo immediately rushed to the scene to look for Marshall. But Mateo saw Marshall who had been shot and was unconscious. Marshall is also seen holding a photo of Mateo's blood-stained parents. Mateo immediately reported it to the police and it didn't take long for the police to come. One of the police who saw the photo of Mateo's parents said to Mateo that he knew Mateo's parents. The police officer sitting next to Mateo told him the story.

 

Mateo's father is a police officer named Jose Cruz Hernandez and Mateo's mother, Isabella Maria De Luca, is a leader of gang member in the El Corona area. They met in an unexpected event and fell in love with each other. Jose and Maria plan to leave El Corona so that Mateo is born safe and secure from crime. However, it was not approved by other gang leaders because Maria was considered a traitor for allying with police officers. However, their will cannot be changed, they still want to leave El Corona. When they wanted to leave, they were confronted by other leaders officials and gang members, threatening to be killed on the spot. Jose told Maria to go into the house. While at home, Maria is in pain because she is about to give birth. Mateo was finally born, Maria told her younger sister Camila to take Mateo away. Camila immediately left the house through the back door and left the area. Meanwhile, Mateo's parents were shot dead by a gang because they were considered traitors. Maria put Mateo in front of the orphanage's door, because Maria was not ready to care for Mateo.

 

After hearing the story from the police officer, Mateo was sad and wondered why he knew about Mateo's family's story. The police officer answered that he was told by his wife, which is the late Mrs. Camila. To make amends to Maria, the police officer promised to care for and look after Mateo. He even invited Mateo to join the Police. Mateo agreed to join because he wanted revenge against the gang that killed his parents and his friend, Marshall. Mateo is also angry and wants to eradicate crime in Los Santos so that no child will experience a story like Mateo's. Mateo's journey as Los Santos justice enforcer starts now.
