On Sunday, 22 September 2024, Dean McDavian tried to get out of bed at 4:54 AM. He couldn’t sleep well because he was stressed about his unpaid rent, which had been overdue for almost three months. Dean knew that if he didn’t pay by the fourth month, he’d be kicked out of his apartment. At one point, he thought about scamming people by selling marijuana to make a lot of money quickly so he could pay off his debt. He rushed out of his apartment, warmed up his bike for 15 minutes, and headed to Mechanic City to look for potential scam victims. He tried to pitch his scam to three people there, but nobody was interested.

After that, Dean noticed someone in an Elegy car outside Mechanic City and walked up to them. He made an offer to trick the driver into falling for his scam. Dean and the woman then found a safe spot to negotiate and make the deal. To his surprise, the woman believed him and gave him the money. It was incredibly easy for the woman to place her trust in Dean, as she was not only a member of a dangerous and powerful organisation in the city, but also deeply involved in its secretive and risky operations.

 

Dean told the woman to wait while he went to get the "stuff." A short while later, the woman realized she’d been scammed. She rushed to the back of her car, popped open the trunk, grabbed a 449 mm MP5 rifle, and started hunting for Dean. After that, the woman spotted a motorcycle Dean’s parked outside a restaurant. Fueled by anger, she entered the shop and brutally attacked Dean before shooting him on the spot, leaving him critically injured. She dragged him outside, took him to the docks, and threw him into the water, where Dean died, drowning while severely wounded.
