He was originally a drug dealer, working in the illicit business together with his friend Samuel Carini. However, their illegal business finally stopped after Carini was arrested by the police department. Then Spero returned to his first job, namely as a taxi driver, but this time, without his knowledge, he worked for an Italian crime family, the Marchetti crime family, a crime family that is categorized as a organized crime group in San Andreas. James Spero works well as a taxi driver, he is always on time to give deposits to Sandro Marchetti or who is usually called Sandy every week. Sandro Marchetti's brother, Antonio Marchetti, who is the boss of this crime family, glanced at Spero's hard work and found out his background, which was known to the local community that he was a drug dealer who distributed marijuana. Antonio Marchetti wanted James Spero to be involved in his marijuana development project, and from this point on Spero worked more for the Marchetti family, he then brought Samuel Carini who had been released from prison to be involved in Antonio's marijuana development. Spero and Carini made more money with Antonio, and besides that, James Spero inherited a large amount of money from his grandmother. James Spero then built his small business, buying an old garage, or more appropriately called a workshop, from a Jew who lived in the neighborhood where he lived. James Spero also runs a business in this garage with Carini and a mechanic named Nathan Kroosty. Indeed, from the outside it appears that this garage or workshop is like other workshops, but they run an illegal vehicle chopping business. The vehicle that they had previously chop up, they stole, then they chop it up in this workshop, then they resold the parts, and this is the point where James Spero met his death.
