DETECTIVE BUREAU

A big city society free of crime and disorder is still an unattainable ideal, however, in keeping with the values of a free society, it is the primary goal of the Detective Bureau to get as close to that ideal as possible. As such, the Department's role is to enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner, recognising the legal and judicial limitations of police authority and the constitutional rights of all persons. It is not the Bureau's role to legislate, make legal decisions, or punish.

Gang Narcotics Division

The deployment of the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) Gang and Narcotics Division (GND) is a revolutionary change in law enforcement strategy. The GND is one component of the LSPD Gang Initiatives 2009 “total solution” to combat the gang and drug problem in the City of Los Angeles. Detective Support & Vice Division

The Detective Division is responsible for the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime, and its work often complements the work of police officers assigned to police stations. Detective work is highly specialised, usually involving the examination and evaluation of evidence to apprehend suspects and build a strong case against them. The bureau ensures that each of its commands conduct solid, high-quality investigations in a timely manner and that each investigation is handled efficiently, with dedication and professionalism.
