Birdie works nights at a little shop, but he has a sinister secret that he never shares with anyone. On a quiet street corner as night sets, Birdie comes upon a young woman who seems scared and injured. Nancy, the woman, had terror visible in her eyes. Birdie assisted him and led him to safety without giving it much thought. In Birdie's apartment, they were both seated in the living room. Eventually, Nancy worked up the guts to admit the source of her anxiety. He admits that he saw a terrible murder that took place a few days earlier. A wealthy businessman with numerous rivals was the individual who passed away. After hearing Nancy's tale, Birdie became concerned. Birdie is one of the murder's executors, which is a significant secret that is starting to come out. He works for a very strong person, and his responsibility is to follow directions without question. He now has to choose whether to help the innocent Nancy or carry on with his dark existence. Birdie made a decision that evening to act. In spite of the severe repercussions, he promises Nancy that he will defend her. In order to find evidence that would help them identify the perpetrators of the murder and put them both out of the public eye, they fled into hiding. The outcome, though, was different. Birdie was found deceased in his residence a few weeks later. He bore wounds that would end his life. The murderer, who did not want the sinister secret to be known, was a person who had formerly been his own partner. The murder was planned by Scott Newman, the man who hired Birdie.
