Both worked for the same Capo in the hierarchy, but the family is currently experiencing serious internal issues that could cause the family to break apart. In an effort to save his own skin, Arthur strikes a deal with the government to testify against Marcus, a former associate. Arthur lured Marcus to meet Frank in a deserted gas station outside of Tierra Robada where the scene was taking place after mentioning this weird "package" and using their connection as a hook. As the two men traveled, Marcus noticed a sinister vibe along the road. His paranoia flared up, and he couldn't place the source of the ominous feeling. Marcus and Arthur were sitting in silence between the petrol pumps at the gas station after they had both arrived there. Marcus noticed that something wasn't right about the circumstance and cast his eyes around the area when he saw a black van. Before he could react, Arthur abruptly exits his car and sprints off in an random direction. Before he could even unbuckle his seatbelt. a group of masked assailants that Arthur himself had hired charged his car with guns blazing. Marcus was shocked and felt betrayed when he finally understood the extent of Arthur's deceit. Marcus was killed in the crossfire as shots rang out by the very people he had once regarded as family. As the goons quickly fled, leaving a devasted scene in their wake, sirens could be heard in the distance. Marcus's head had struck the dashboard when he was discovered lying dead. The one person he had most put his trust in had betrayed him. It was a terrible reminder of how evil the human soul could become when driven by self-preservation and dishonesty as he passed away that he was unable to comprehend the full extent of Arthur's treachery.
