UmbrellaCorp Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Jamal_Bentley Jamal "Khareem" Bentley is an 18 years-old African American male born and raised in New York City. Jamal grew up in East Harlem with his mother, who was just 15 when she found out she was pregnant with him. Jamal's mother always reminded him and was strict on him to do good in school,2; which he did and was a high honor roll student. Jamal never knew or met his father in fact his mother never spoke of or told Jamal where his father was and never even told Jamal his fathers name. His mother always tried her best to keep Jamal out of the streets so he was always involved with sports with football being his favorite. Of course, with his mother having a job she could not watch over Jamal every hour of the day. Jamal would then spend that time his mother was at work hanging outside with his friends in the neighborhood. Jamal was always the younger kid hanging around an older crowd of teenagers. The group of teenagers Jamal chose to hang with were a group of street dirt bike riders. This would lead Jamal to be heavily influenced by the famous "Bike Life" scene in the boroughs of New York. At a very young age of just 12 years old Jamal would begin going on night missions with his older friends where they would partake in stealing bikes left outside of homes in Queens and Brooklyn with the goal of bringing them to a warehouse to chop the stolen bikes for its parts or exchange of money. Doing this regularly for almost 4 months would have the streets of New York talking word would eventually get around of who was stealing all these bikes. At this point Jamal would lose 2 of his friends to gun violence and 1 being arrested for breaking and entering. This would bring a lot of attention to East Harlem where Jamal lived but he did not understand the seriousness of the situation being was only 12 years old. Jamal's mother would then eventually find out about the events he would be involved in and try to talk to him hoping that she would be able to get him to stop but he will not listen to her wishes and continue on with stealing. A few months go by and Jamal is now 13 years old. It is a Friday morning Jamal's mother gets him ready for school just as any other day. When dropping Jamal off for school his mother would give him a hug with a sad face and tell him that she wishes he would stop doing the things he does with the older kids. The day goes by and Jamal gets home from school at 2;30pm Hours pass and its now 12am and Jamal's mother is still not home from work. After many attempted phone calls to his mother Jamal decides to sleep for the night assuming his mother's phone is dead and she is still working as sometimes she would take on an extra shift causing her to work all night. Little would Jamal know that morning would be the last time Jamal would see or hear from his mother ever again. It is now Sunday and Jamal's mother has still not been home or even given Jamal a phone call. He would then become angry at himself thinking his mother has just given up on him for his involvements with his Bike Life friends and not listening to her when asked to quit stealing. With Jamal only being 13 years old, not being close with any immediate family in New York and feels weird asking to stay with one of his friends he decides to call his auntie that lives in Compton California which she then rushes to New York to bring Jamal with her back to L.A. Jamal's aunt would notify the police that her sister never returned home and could be missing. With a week passing and no word from his mother Jamal begins to promise himself to never steal again if his mother comes back to him. A few months go by... Still nothing to hear from his mother, this would build up so much anger inside of Jamal. Being 13 years old going on 15 Jamal has completely stopped attending school after the 11th grade with no plans to return and being in Compton California Jamal quickly learns his surroundings are no different than his back in New York. His auntie has a boyfriend who is apart of the “Santana Blocc Compton Crips” Jamal always watched him and how he always had money. Jamal became attracted to the lifestyle. Unfortunately his aunties boyfriend would end up being arrested on drug charges and sentenced to 10 years in prison. With a lot of the same influences around him Jamal’s first thoughts are to start making money for himself. He decides he will do this the same way his friends did back in New York. Over the time growing up in L.A. Jamal grew a love for the look of cars, guns and smoking weed. That would be it. Over the next years growing up Jamal would get into many robberies and scams for drugs he would also return back to his old ways but this time breaking into and stealing cars all over Los Angeles. Becoming somewhat known for stealing cars other people would then come to him if they wanted someone's car stolen and brought back to them and Jamal would be the right person for the job. Of course with every action there is an outcome and only time will tell what kind of consequences Jamal could be getting himself into but at this point in his life he is prepared and ready for anything thrown his way. And now Jamal continues his life as Santana Blocc Compton Crip at 19 years old.
