     Born in Pillbox Hospital to a single mother, Malik had a harsh family life. His mother was addicted to opioids. He spent most of his early life inside his house, where his mother would constantly harass him during his early life, blaming him for her financial mishaps and would yell at him, beat him, and neglect him. Feeling alone, he would lash out in anger to get his mothers validation and attention, leading to her abusing him and most notably, pushing her cigarette burns into his legs until he stopped crying and begged her to stop. 

 

     As a result of this, he would act up for attention and validation of his teachers and peers. Constantly getting into fights in school, harassing teachers and coming home with marks all over his body and phone calls home, leading to further abuse at home until his grandmother found out at 12, moving him out of his mothers' to a dirty motel in Rancho where he slept on an old sofa. Due to the living conditions and people coming in and out of the motel room as it was shared by many to make up for the rent, His grandmother would neglect him due to her age and energy. He lacked guidance and love, which lead him to search for validation from his environment. 

 

     Malik didn't seem to be fascinated by much, feeling somewhat lost in life, he began roaming the streets as a teenager trying to find validation, eventually finding weed from the neighborhood kids and finding an escape by getting high. He would steal money out of his grandmothers purse and steal even the coins to try to bargain with the neighborhood kids for as much weed as he could. Malik is a quiet, reserved teenager who seems almost anxious at nothing sometimes, he can be seen roaming the streets with his hand in his pockets and head down to the floor, keeping to himself.
