$SanKing$ Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Nala_Summers “Sounds of bombs and artilleries firing in the distance was like a music for me,” was what grandpa always said to me, a 30 years-old but not-yet-matured ‘kid’ from the outskirts of Liberty City, born to a father who lived in the city of Hue, Vietnam, before he and my grandpa decided to migrate to the US. Some of my friends said that I’m such a calming and alluring person, but that was a mere first-impression before this rambunctious, energetic self got introduced to them. A couple years after migrating to Liberty City and battling the economy, my grandpa decided to open a small pho store right in the middle of the CBD. Dozens of individuals flaunting expensive designer-suits amazed me, who at that time, was a high-schooler, and that was where I got the inspiration from. Yeah, the inspiration to set my life for the better. I took my life more seriously, brought a large whiteboard that I nailed right on the top of my bed and wrote a list of my dreams right on it. “I want to be a journalist, or a writer, or a researcher who writes about current events, or maybe a copywriter, or else, anyone who wear suits all the time to the office!” I murmured to myself while jolting on the board in the middle of the summer night. Then the dream got slowly built. From acing the remaining years of high-school, to entering the Greenglass College in Las Venturas taking BA in journalism, I thought I was on the right track to succeed. However, after graduating, life got the better of me, and I was struck directly on my face by reality. It was tough, competitive field. There is just too many people oversaturating the market, so I started slow and moved to Los Santos to work at a small magazine publisher as a copywriter. My dream persisted, and one day as I traveled for work, I went through the street adjacent to the SANews studio. Someday I will work there, I hummed while increasing my pace to reach my office just at the end of the road.
