SAFD Public Affairs Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Fire Facility, San Fierro - San Andreas Fire Department held training for their Firefighter on August 20, 2021. The field units from both districts attended the training. The main theme of this training was about how to rescue a trapped person. All the field units gathered at Fire Station 34 at 7:00 PM. The person in charge for this A Day Of Drill was Engineer Marc Carson, as for the Instructor were Captain Reichert Barrenies, Lieutenant Gavin Malachy, Engineer Lionel Trenton, and Engineer Yuuma Kirigaya. After the instructors gathered all the field units, Engineer Carson explained the units needed for this training. It turned out that they only need TRUCK and RESCUE units. There were 26 participants in the activity, they brought 2 TRUCK units from Fire Station 34 and Fire Station 60, and the rest got RESCUE units. Before heading to Fire Facility, they had dinner first to lift their energy. On their arrival at Fire Facility around 7.30 PM, they lined up neatly as the instructor explains the material and divides them into four groups. Each group consists of 6-7 firefighters. Engineer Marc Carson would lead two groups, and Engineer Yuuma Kirigaya would lead another two groups. There are two different scenes of the training. The scene was made as a challenge for the firefighter. The training started with enthusiasm from the firefighters. In the middle of training, Commissioner Matthew Ashworth and Division Chief Earnest Hargreeves visited us. It was an honor for them to welcomed Commissioner Ashworth to the training. Captain Barennies was the one who accompanies the Commissioner through all the training sessions.. The instructors ran the training smoothly for around 2 hours. The firefighters had their chance to do the simulation, after that instructors gave them some advice and an evaluation from the simulation before. The training ended at 8:50 PM, closed with a photo session and some word of appreciation from Commissioner Matthew Ashworth. The crew disbanded to their districts, firefighters from district 34 went back to Fire Station 34, and so did the firefighters from district 60. Hopefully, the training would be helpful for all the firefighters of the San Andreas Fire Department.
