As a child, he lived a rough life as his father left when he was 5 and raised by his mother until he was 13. Live in Athens was really hard when you got no one besides your mom, as a teenager, Sergio worked for the local mafia as a goods delivery man. Sergio delivers anything the mafia asked without hesitation. After all, he needed the money so bad because his mom was sick and needed to go to the hospital. Long story short, Sergio's mom passed away one day before his13rd birthday because of brain cancer. From that moment, Sergio decides that he will not suffer from short of money. Sergio got adopted by Mr. Alex who is Sergio's boss at that time. Mr. Alex runs the mafia in Athens, he runs gambling. Sergio is known for his driving skills, at first, he works as a delivery man with a truck. Sergio never asks when a job is given to him, he just does his job properly and never misses the delivery time. Sergio who excels at his job and just turn 17 got offered a "promotion" by Mr. Alex, he got offered to be a personal driver for Mr. Alex because of his loyalty to him, Sergio accepted the job. Mr. Alex is known for his assertiveness and for that he got respect from the locals at Athens because he also protects locals' businesses from criminals. Mr. Alex got many enemies because he got support from locals and his rivals got envy from that, given the situation Sergio got training from Mr. Alex; gun training and combat training. When driving Mr. Alex's family to a family dinner, they got stopped by local goons, and without panicking, Sergio stepped up and successfully managed to clear the problem. Seeing that bravery from Sergio, Alexa who is Mr. Alex's daughter caught a spark and began to fall for Sergio. Sergio and Alexa got married at the of 20, Mr. Alex blesses this marriage so much because he already regards Sergio as his own son. Mr. Alex is relieved that Alexa married Sergio because he thinks that now her daughter is safe. After all, she got Sergio by her side. One night Sergio and Alexa want to have dinner to celebrate their 10th anniversary, on the way to the restaurant the car driven by Sergio got hit by an SUV and Alexa got killed shot by a revolver 3 times in the chest. Mr. Alex got so devastated and he gave an ultimatum to Sergio that he should leave the country within 24 hours, if not he will hunt him and kill him the way his daughter died. So Sergio decided to move to Los Santos to start fresh and will use his skill set to survive living in Los Santos.
