Cole Rutherford Cole Rutherford In the spring, on May 9th, 1999, a boy named Cole Rutherford was born. Cole came from a middle-class family; his mom worked as a waitress at a local diner, and his dad was a soldier who died before Cole even got the chance to meet him. Growing up without a father and with a mom who was always busy, Cole learned early on that the world could be rough. He spent a lot of time hanging out with friends, smoking weed, and practicing shooting in the desert with a pistol that belonged to a friend’s dad, who happened to be the local sheriff. Life wasn’t exactly kind, and Cole got into trouble more than once. He got caught smuggling weed into school and, at 13, got kicked out. Without school, he had to figure out how to survive, picking up odd jobs like moving heavy stuff, herding livestock, or getting rid of pests on local farms. He was a natural with a gun, so by 15 he started trying his hand at amateur hunting, though the world around him stayed tough and unforgiving. Most 17-year-olds are wrapped up in crushes and school drama, but Cole wasn’t most kids. By then, he’d already won a few shooting and hunting competitions, earning him the nickname “Cole with Colt” around town. But his luck ran out when a coyote nearly killed him during a hunt, and that was enough to make him give up hunting for good. At 19, he decided to become a trucker, hauling goods across Texas... yeah, a typical redneck move, what did you expect? Things went pretty smoothly for a while, until he got fired at 25 for “carelessness.” With his mom getting sick, Cole had no choice but to find money by any means necessary, taking odd jobs and sometimes doing stuff that was on the shady side, whether it meant smuggling illegal goods or hunting protected animals. The pay was good, but so was the risk, and Cole had learned to live with that. One night, though, everything hit the fan. After dropping off a sketchy shipment at a warehouse on the edge of town, Cole realized he was being watched. Local cops had started sniffing around his questionable activities, and a gang that he’d been careful to avoid was now paying attention because one of his deliveries stepped on their territory. Too many people knew too much, and Cole understood that landing in jail or worse was a real possibility. He takes his old truck, some gear, and whatever cash he had, leaving the town that had been home but also a trap. His plan was simple: "start fresh, stay away from the past that could kill him, and do it smarter this time". That plan took him to Los Santos, a city full of opportunities, dangers, and people to either use or avoid. One thing Cole knew for sure: in that city, he’d have to be sharper, quicker, and way more cunning than anyone else if he wanted to make it out alive.
