Seth Armistead
Seth Armistead was born on January 1st, 2000, in a quiet little town on the outskirts of Austin, Texas. In school, Seth was just an average student. He never really felt comfortable sitting still in a classroom. He much preferred tinkering with engines in the garage, whether it was fixing an old lawnmower or his dad's busted motorcycle. As soon as he graduated high school in 2018, he was set on the fact that college wasn't for him. He jumped straight into odd jobs for over two years, taking whatever he could get, from warehouse grunt to construction labor. His goal was simple: stack cash. His big idea actually came from the always-busy I-35 highway. He'd often watch those big rigs and think, that was true freedom. Right on his 21st birthday in 2021, he took a gamble and used all his savings to enroll in CDL school. He passed at the top of his class and didn't waste any time landing a job as an long-haul driver.
For the next two years, Seth's life was on the road. Holidays and family gatherings were often missed. He just focused on hauling freight from one coast to the other. This is where he learned the industry the hard way. He'd been caught in nasty blizzards in Wyoming, dealt with a tire blowout in the middle of the hot Arizona desert, and most importantly, learned how to manage his money. He hated being bossed around by a dispatcher back at the office. Seth swore to himself that one day, he'd be the boss. After saving like crazy and taking a risky bank loan, Seth bought his first used truck in 2023 and officially became an owner-operator. This is where the real struggle began. He had the headache of finding his own loads, dealing with expensive repairs, and facing diesel prices that were all over the place.
Slowly but surely, his name started to get around as a driver who kept his word and was always on time. He managed to land a few good contracts with local distributors in Texas. By mid-2024, the work became too much for one guy to handle. Seth bought his second truck and hired his first driver, an old buddy he trusted completely. That was the start of "Armistead Logistics." Slowly but surely, one truck turned into two, and then grew into a small fleet. Today, Seth isn't driving cross-country as much. He's busy managing his operation, which has grown to five trucks and a handful of employees from a simple office in south Austin. He's known as a tough but fair boss. All his drivers respect him because they know their boss once lived the same hard life on the road. Seth had successfully built his dream, not in a skyscraper, but on the open highway that was once his home.
