Jorge_Galan One day, there was a boy named Jorge Galan, commonly known as Alan. Alan was born on October 19, 2007, in the city of Guerrero, Mexico. In 2010, at the age of 10, Alan was forced to work because his family was struggling financially and desperately needed money to make ends meet. Alan had to work as a newspaper vendor at the market during the day, and as a shoe shiner in the afternoon until evening to earn enough money to give to his mother. Alan lived alone with his mother because his father had separated from her and remarried another woman. Alan actually hated his father deeply, but his mother taught him not to hold a grudge against anyone, even if they hurt him. Alan, who always listened to his mother’s advice, continued to try never to hold a grudge against anyone—until one day his mother was found dead under suspicious circumstances, or, one might say, murdered. Seeing his mother die under such suspicious circumstances right before his eyes left Alan feeling a profound sense of loss and even stress. At that very moment, many residents arrived to help transport Alan’s mother so she could be buried properly. A few hours later, after his mother had been laid to rest, Alan was the only one left at the gravesite, standing motionless as he gazed at his mother’s grave. A few years after Alan had been living without his mother, at the age of 19, he left the city of Guerrero for Fort Carson by stealing some money from visitors so he would have enough to get there. For several days, Alan committed thefts until he finally had enough money to buy a ticket to Fort Carson. Once he arrived there, Alan began looking for any job he could find so he could survive there. Alan worked very hard to get whatever he wanted, and to this day he continues to work and has even made some acquaintances who accept him as if he were family.
