Martell_Appachito Once upon a time, a child named Martell Appachito was born on January 10, 2008, on a Chippewa Cree reservation in Montana. A Native American by both parents, Martell grew up hearing stories of his ancestors' triumphs. However, the reality of life wasn't as rosy as the fairy tales. Systemic poverty and a lack of amenities led his family to migrate to Los Santos in search of new opportunities. They settled in East Los Santos, a rough neighborhood plagued by gang violence and high crime rates. The drastic change from the tranquil nature of the reservation to the violent urban landscape shaped Martell's mentality from an early age. Entering Los Santos High School, Martell is now in 12th grade. As a Native American teenager in a predominantly racially diverse environment, despite having some friends of his own, Martell often experiences racism and bullying from his peers. Rather than submit, the warrior roots of his ancestors drive Martell to fight back with violence. His family's financial hardship also made Martell sick of seeing his parents constantly humiliated. This was where the turning point in his life began. Martell began skipping school and hanging out with a gang of delinquent teenagers who attended the same school. The gang was comprised of Los Santos High School students, predominantly of pure-blood Native-American descent, who lived around the Market area. By the end of his high school years, Martell's criminal activities were no longer just ordinary juvenile delinquency. He became involved in a motor vehicle theft ring, robbed a grocery store at night, and even became a small-scale drug courier. At school, Martell was known as a feared rebellious student who often used his school locker to store contraband. Despite repeated warnings from the school, Martell ignored them because, for him, survival on the streets of Los Santos was far more important than a diploma. Now, as his graduation looms, Martell is increasingly immersed in the Los Santos underworld and begins to pursue greater ambitions to build his own reputation.
