On July 10, 2004, twin brothers Damon Shotgun and Charles Shotgun were born into the Shotgun family they lived with their parents in the village of Angel Pine. The brothers spent their days hunting animals such as wolves, bears, and deer in the forest alongside their parents. Although Damon was initially somewhat afraid to go hunting, Charles persuaded him to join in, and the two began hunting in the woods together.

 

Time passed, and Damon and Charles were now fifteen years old they continued to assist their parents with hunting. However, the Shotgun family faced difficult times as competition from other hunters dwindled the available game, resulting in lower sales of the meat and animal-hide clothing they produced. Refusing to sit idly by, Damon and Charles secretly rode out to Mount Chiliad a place their parents had strictly forbidden them to visit due to the presence of highly aggressive bears. One afternoon, they made the trip on a motorcycle borrowed from their neighbor, Jansen Smith a man who was like family to them. Upon arriving at Mount Chiliad, they began searching for game and found an abundance of deer. After successfully bagging a single deer, they hurried to return home, but a bear suddenly gave chase, drawn by the scent of the deer's blood. Panicked, Damon and Charles opened fire on the beast, but it proved incredibly resilient; just as the bear was about to maul Damon, Jansen Smith appeared and shot the animal dead. Jansen then drove the boys home. Although they initially feared he would report them, Jansen simply smiled and said, "Don't do that again." Grateful, Damon and Charles returned home and presented the hunted deer to their parents, managing to craft several garments from that single animal.

 

A few years later, Damon and Charles were now eighteen Charles decided to move to the city specifically to an area called Willowfield to seek his fortune. Although Damon initially wanted to go along, Charles insisted on making the move alone, promising to let Damon know once he had secured a suitable place so they could live there together.

 

As time went by, Damon turned twenty-two, and Charles invited him to come live in Willowfield upon hearing this, Damon said his goodbyes to his parents and Jansen, then hopped on his motorcycle and set off to join Charles.
