One night, Kaenan Nabeel was standing outside his flat. He stood there for quite a while, not waiting for anyone in particular, when a local resident who knew him approached. Kaenan showed no respect to this man, even though the man had lived in the area long before Kaenan moved into the flat. Irritated by Kaenan’s insolent attitude, the local man devised a way to pick a fight with him. Knowing Kaenan’s reputation for cunning and deceit, the man—who was no ordinary person—formulated a plan, having already envisioned exactly how it would play out and end. As tensions rose, he put his scheme into motion. He tricked Kaenan by claiming he had an enemy to take revenge on but lacked the necessary weapon—despite the fact that he was actually a local dealer of drugs and firearms. The plan unfolded exactly as the man intended. Kaenan, true to his usual habits, assumed the man was unarmed and planned to simply run off with the money once it was handed over. During the setup, the man deliberately dragged out the transaction to study Kaenan’s movements. Sure enough, once the exchange was complete, everything played out exactly as the man had foreseen. Kaenan took the money without a thought for the consequences; his only goal was to get away and squander the cash on partying and drugs. But he was mistaken. He fled without once looking back, remaining oblivious even as the man pulled a gun from his waistband—until the man leveled the weapon and shot him dead. Because of Kaenan’s insolence and lack of respect, the man gave him no chance to survive; he brutally shot Kaenan in the head, killing him instantly. And that person took everything Kaenan was carrying, leaving absolutely nothing behind—especially the firearms and money. Then, the person simply abandoned Kaenan at the scene.
