On November 7, 2005, Najeem Higgins was born into a lower-middle class family in Michigan city, USA. His father, Anthony Higgins was a small-time drug dealer and illegal firearms seller who catered to local Black residents and neighborhood gangs, while his mother, Ivory Love, was a dedicated homemaker. Najeem had an older brother, Demonte Higgins, who was extremely rebellious. Najeem would often secretly observe his brother skipping school, drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and even interacting with local gang members.

 

Najeem Higgins grew up in a rough neighborhood plagued by high crime rates; theft, extortion, and even murder were commonplace in a place notorious well beyond its own borders. Najeem often wanted to tag along on the illicit activities of his older brother, Demonte, but Demonte adamantly refused even going so far as to strike Najeem to keep him away. Driven by intense curiosity, however, Najeem would often secretly follow his brother, learning the ways of delinquency from Demonte's behavior. Eventually, Najeem fell in with a group of wayward peers his own age and grew up adopting a criminal lifestyle.

 

As he grew older, Najeem Higgins became a drug courier, driving whatever vehicles were available; despite the modest cars, he possessed exceptional driving skills—including the ability to car drift handling any vehicle with ease. One day, a gang attacked Najeem and his friends over a trivial matter, but thanks to his superior driving skills, Najeem managed to escape the group. It turned out he had become a target for another drug dealer who viewed him as a threat to their business; consequently, Najeem was frequently pursued by gangs and even corrupt police officers hired to kill him. Feeling that Michigan was no longer safe, Najeem contacted his older brother, Demonte, and learned that Demonte was living in Los Santos with a stable business. Demonte paid for Najeem’s flight to Los Santos. Upon arrival, Najeem was picked up at the airport by members of his brother's crew, and he went on to build a new life and business alongside Demonte in the city.
