Since he was 10 years old, Rakim grew up in a well off family in East Los Santos. Ever since he was a kid, he was always getting himself into dangerous situations without his parents knowing. He lived in a rough neighborhood where crime was pretty common. Even though his parents constantly warned him not to do reckless things and stay away from the people on the streets, Rakim never really listened. He always did things his own way. Six years later, Rakim was now 16 years old. After school, he'd take whatever job he could find to make some extra money from there. He wanted to help his parents out and felt like working was the right thing to do. Around that time, he was always with his closest friend, Nazzel Webb. The two were like brothers. Whether they were hanging out, working, or just wasting time around the neighborhood, they were usually together. One day, things took a turn for the worse. Webb got accused by one of their classmates of smoking cannabis in the school restroom. Rakim refused to believe it. Both, he and Webb denied the accusation, but the situation kept getting more heated. Eventually, Rakim lost his temper. Caught up in the moment, he smashed the student who accused Webb. The hit left the kid bruised and bleeding. After the fight, Rakim and Webb ran off. A few days later, neither of them returned to school. They were fed up with everything and didn't want anything to do with it anymore. Instead, they started taking whatever jobs they could find to make money. Before long, those jobs got dirtier and more dangerous. They got involved in robberies, violent crimes, and all kinds of illegal work. Without realizing it, both of them had stepped into a world that was far more dangerous than they ever expected. By the time Rakim turned 18, he and Webb were already known for the crimes they committed. They robbed stores, home-invasion to looking for valuables, and stayed one step ahead of the police whenever they could. Their names became known on the streets, especially after they formed a crew that gained a reputation for being dangerous. Around that time, someone from the local rap scene noticed Rakim's talent and offered him a chance to get into music. Rakim took the opportunity, with Webb supporting him the whole way. Rakim quickly found his own style and started building a name for himself under the rap name "Raq-K." His music gained attention, but so did his criminal reputation. People knew him as both a rapper and someone whose name was constantly showing up in stories connected to street crime. Even with the money he made from music, Rakim never felt satisfied. Instead of leaving his old life behind, he stayed connected to the streets and continued living by the same mindset he'd always had.
