Vena lived in a small house with her mother named Charleen Delaney, Vena was raised as a single child by a single parent after her father passed away in a car accident when she was only 5 years old. she had no memory of him only a few photograph, her mother kept it on the shelf in the room. Charleen worked long hours as a seamstress to keep their small house running. Vena used to be a quiet and independent child, she spent most of her afternoons reading books borrowed from the local library near her house, finding things that could motivate her when the house felt too empty and silent, she wasn't a particularly social child, but she was thoughtful and did well in her school, her teachers often described her as attentive and disciplined student. when Vena finished her secondary school, she applied to the University of Edinburgh to study Library and Information Science. It was not a dramatic decision it simply felt like the most natural path for someone who spent half her childhood with borrowed books. her mother was proud even though she said little about it, but she always made sure there was a warm meal on the table for her beloved daughter, Vena. the university was manageable for her, she kept a small part time job at a campus cafe, she handled her coursework steadily and graduated 4 years later. After graduation, Vena was offered a position at a public library in Edinburgh, not really far from the neighborhood where she grew up. the work suited her, she was gladly doing her job, managing book collections, assisting users and helping visitors find what they needed. it wasn't a fancy life, but it was a steady and honest. Vena always visits her mother every sunday and sometimes on the afternoons at the library she would pull out a book then read just as she has always done.
