Both his father and mother were employed as a port technician and works a small shop on their neighborhood. Since his childhood, Seojun got used to the idea that hard work is something inherent in the world. The grim seaport life, with its noise of machines, its brine odor and mean rhythm, slowly turned him into an uncomplaining, hardy individual. One of the turning points was when his father passed away in an accident at work. Seojun and his mother were mercilessly hit by the loss. The family 'broke' in just a few seconds and shortly after that, his mother became sick and was unable to work anymore. Seojun was made to take up responsibilities which were not his at his very young age. He dropped out of school and started to work at odd jobs just to make a living. It is at this time that Seojun got in touch with the underworld, the world of trustworthless individuals, fake trust and money which invariably cost someone a lot. He accepted manual work, hazardous jobs and those that were legal gray. Seojun never lost himself, nevertheless. He was taught how to understand situations, how to evaluate the character of people, and keep his distance in order not to become sucked too deep. He had his own rules: he did not like useless bloodshed and could never betray those people who believed in him. With the lapse of time, his past started to narrow around his neck like a noose. Seojun had a strong determination to move out of South Korea and begin a new life in a foreign country. He led a low profile in the city where he finally settled under a simple identity. He was a law-abiding person who did not want to draw attention and established contacts very carefully. Nowadays Shin Seojun is a quiet, cold man on the outside, but a man who is calculating inside. He is not a truster, but when his trust is gained he will be loyal, without any other alternative. Loyalty is the best value to Seojun and betrayal is one of the lines that cannot be forgiven. Even though the shadows of his past continues to haunt him, Seojun is convinced that everyone deserves the right to be given a second chance, provided that he or she is strong enough to struggle to get it and will never repeat the same mistakes.
