Namun, takdir tidak pernah memihak kepadanya. Ibu bapaknya meninggal dunia ketika dia dilahirkan ibunya akibat komplikasi kelahiran, manakala bapakya, yang tidak dapat menerima kenyataan kehilangan isteri, mengalami kemalangan jalan raya sehari selepas itu. Bangun dari pagi, dia memeriksa truck kontainernya, memastikan setiap perjalanan berjalan lancar. Jalan raya adalah rumah keduanya, dan dia lebih nyaman berada di belakang stereng berbanding dengan orang lain. Hidupnya sederhana. Makan di warung tepi jalan, tidur dalam kabin trucknya ketika perjalanan jauh, dan menghabiskan masa lapang dengan membaiki kenderaannya dan bekerja sendiri. Baginya, kebebasan di jalan raya lebih bermakna daripada terperangkap dalam kehidupan sosial yang rumit.Walaupun tampak tenang, jauh di sudut hati Louris, dia sering tertanya-tanya adakah dia hanya sekadar hidup untuk bekerja?
