Arnold Galante, also known as Arnie, is a made member of organized crime, and Matthew has to do work with him every day. Matthew started working with Arnie after he got sabotaged by Arnie and his friend and was forced to steal a few bottles of champagne from a liquor bar at East Beach. Matthew followed the command after he got caught stealing a car radio from Arnie's car. Arnie's friend is recording the action of Matthew when he steals from the liquor bar, and that's the reason Matthew stays near Arnie. Every time Matthew wants to get out of Arnie's business, he always remembers the video of him stealing the champagne. After a few months of working with Arnie, he makes a change after meeting a guy named Samuel. Shortly after they met in a bar, Matthew drank a lot of wine and started complaining about his work with Arnie to Samuel. And they became friends after that meeting in a bar. Samuel always gives Matthew suggestions about the next step he's going to take for Arnie. After a few weeks, Samuel wants to help Matthew escape from Arnie and his business. Samuel offers Matthew a lot of money to get information about Arnie and his business. Samuel needs the details about the dealings, the supplier, and the client. Matthew had always known that talking with Samuel was a risky proposition. But the allure of easy money was just too great for him to resist. And so he had accepted Samuel's offer to provide information on Arnie. Matthew had convinced himself that he could handle it and that he could keep his involvement a secret. But he had underestimated just how dangerous Arnie was. Within days of Matthew's betrayal, Arnie had found out about his involvement and had him get into his trap. Arnie sent his guys, Joseph Borelli and George Girardi, to capture Matthew after the betrayal. Matthew and Joseph are close friends; they work together for Arnie, and Joseph helped Matthew in a bad situation when he worked with Arnie, and Matthew still owes that moment to Joseph. So it's easy for Joseph to catch Matthew at Arnie's command. Joseph lures Matthew to a house that Matthew doesn't know at first of his arrival that he's going to get executed by Arnie in that house.
