Bōsōzoku (暴走族, literally "violent running tribe" or "reckless driving group") is a Japanese youth subculture associated with customized motorcycles and cars. Emerging primarily in the 2000s, these groups consist of criminals who are not officially registered as bōryokudan (Yakuza) but engage in similar, often more brutal, illicit activities.
